FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

 

Q: What is the refund policy?
A: $15 administration fee prior to receiving the equipment; $75 fee after the equipment has been received; no refund after the first regular season game.

 

Q: Do I have to purchase equipment?
A: No!  Most equipment is supplied.  A time will be arranged to be outfitted.  Cleats, mouthguard and tape must be purchased by the guardian.
Mouthguards are required at all practices and games.  All mouthguards must have a strap that attached to the helmet.  If your child has a mouth-guard made by a Dentist, a note must be provided from your Dentist to and given to the referee prior to each game before the child is allowed to play.
 

 

Q: When does the season start?
A:  Teams usually start practicing in mid July with games starting in mid August.  Teams play up to 10 games per season.

 

Q: How often do the teams practice?
A:  Practices are held 2 to 3 nights per week for approximately 2 hours each.  Practices will be held rain/snow or shine.  Players should be at the field dressed and ready to go 15 minutes before practice begins. 
Be back at the sidelines at least 15 to 30 minutes before practice ends.  If the coach needs to pass on any changes or information it is best to speak with a parent.

 

Q: Where will the practices be held?
A: Republic Park football field which is in the far back corner of the park.

 

Q: When are the games?
A
:  Teams play one game on the weekend, either held on a Saturday or Sunday. 
There are 4 away games.  Have your child at the away field minimum of 1 hour prior to the scheduled game.
There are 4 home games.  Have your child at the home field a minimum of 1 hours prior to the scheduled game. 

 

Q: If my child can't attend a game, do I need to let someone know?
A: Yes!  Advise either the coach or the manager of the team.

 

Q: What if the weather is bad?
A:
Rain/Snow or shine the games will be played. Be prepared.
Bring extra clothing for your player and yourselves.  Along with all weather gear.

   

Q: How can I help?
A: In order to cover costs for home games (i.e. paying for referees and the field, painting the field), we run a canteen and sell 50/50s.  There may also be some fundraisers that assistance may be required.  Parents are required to work at the home games.  10 people are required for each home game.  5 canteen; 2 50/50; 3 marker holders.

Q: What is required for turning in equipment?
A: All equipment must be clean when returning.  This includes the inside and outside of helmets.
